In Case You Get a PDPPD2_N Jam Code

I had a strange symptom today on a M754N with the FN19, and punch unit.
I was getting PDPPD2_N jam code, with the paper stuck at the finisher exit rollers. The manual’s definition is “PDPPD2 Finisher paper pass paper transport detector 2”.
I spent a good hour trying to find that sensor, and decided to try with Misfeed disabled. Everything was feeding but would not exit the finisher. I opened the pass through
door, and there were the copies on the base of the pass through. So the definition above would have helped if the wording was ‘paper pass through’.
The second sensor lever was bowed and stuck in the pass through. I’m thinking when the shipping tape was taken off, it pulled and distorted the lever.
Repositioned it and all was fine.
Hope this helps someone save some time.

I think sometimes there are certain words that have been lost in translation in the service manuals. I can't think of any specific at the moment, but, I have run into my fair share of them. I think this would be one of them.

Sharp sensor names are an affront to all things decent and holy.

I like the wording on the labels affixed to the Doc Feed, referencing clean the slit glass when, "Linear Stains" appear..
