different models, same problem...band new units...

we recently installed brand new primary transfer units in an MX-5141 and MX-7500... both units began leaving identical looking small black mark patterns... looks like it may be from transfer unit cleaning unit brushes... anybody else had this problem? ...these were both fresh out of the box units ...the marks are two parallel 1/8" lines

can you provide pictures and maybe even measurements of the distance between marks?

Dirt on the transferunit rollers? Especially the rol on the cleaning side...

I'm guessing the "black patterns" look like staples? of "mustaches" as someone discribed it here

your description sounds about right...but the marks appear as soon as it is installed...no time for ANY build-up to occur... and the same thing on 2 different machines?...

did you run the installation procedure when the new belts were installed?

Remove 2nd transfer belt. You can get contamination on the inner rollers which can cause a staple mark, and you get the same on the 1st transfer belt rollers as well. Seeing as you have swapped the 1st transfer, I would go for 2nd causing the issue

Did you replace the whole unit? Or the belt itself?

I've had to replace the follower roller. The one closest to the cleaning blade in past for these tiny staple marks as I call them.

The marks are from the cleaning blade being pushed away from the belt by the bump from contamination under the belt. It is more likely debris from a disintegrating fuser gear or foam seal as it need to be rigid enough to create the pimple in the belt from the inside. The 2nd transfer has no blade so is not likely the cause.
