    MX-M565

So, I’ve been working on Kyocera copiers for a decade now, but I’ve recently had to start working on more Sharp machines.

This particular machine has been reporting “TRAY 1_L” jams. I’ll go out, and test the tray with 100-200 pages and have no problem at all. The jam report says I'll do it every 5-50 pages. First of all, the Sharp manual is pretty terrible when it comes to looking up jam codes, as far as I can see. I can’t find anything in the manual at all about “TRAY 1_L”. What does the L stand for? I assumed lift, but the machine never has a problem lifting the paper when I’m there.

The machine has brand new rollers, and I swapped out the cassette, as well. Just to remove it from
    the equation.

Does anyone know exactly what the “_L”stands for, and has anyone had
    this problem in the past?

    Thanks!

Go into sim mode and print out a 22-6

    Scan and post page 1

Will see what we can do to help from there.

Run sim code 23-2 to see history of jams and trouble codes.

TRAY_1_L refers to "late" timing coming out of the tray. The paper is not coming out fast enough. If you have done feed tires (all 3 of them) then you may possibly have a clutch problem. If you say that you can't duplicate it, then maybe it is the way the customer is loading paper? Side guides could be to tight. Paper could be "dog eared" in the cassette?
