Hello, I have an MX-M283 that has intermittent copy quality issues. Machine has new drum, dv, fuser rollers. I have included a couple scans to show the problem. Seems like an LSU or ICU problem to me but would like your input.
Thanks.

Yeah sorry about the washed out look. Thats a copy of a copy. The density is ok on copies.
ok... please post originals if possible in the future.
I would look at the paper path giving the streaks... clean it
what gsm of paper and what setting are you running it on?
sometimes running it at a "thicker" paper will eliminate this
what is total page count and what are the counts on the parts you replaced? (you did reset/init parts and run init processes?)
I would definitely pull the laser, pop off cover and carefully clean,
Blow off the beam detect sensors.
The partial image shift definitely looks "digital".
Possibly a board or software is having trouble processing the data/image.
Hey thanks for the replies. I have flashed the machine with the latest firmware. It actually only happens on copies and not internal prints. I have removed and cleaned the LSU. The copies are set up portrait so I don't see how it could be a roller problem or fuser as the lines run front machine side to back. It definitely looks digital to me and I think my next step maybe would be to try to swap out the CCD unit.
Hah! I haven't seen this in ages!
When you cleaned the optics, I'm betting that you removed a couple of the mirrors. Copiers use front surface mirrors, that is, the reflecting surface is on the front of the piece of glass, not the back.
Since you're used to looking at mirrors through the glass medium, you probably installed it backwards. Installed this way you get both a reflective image off the glass surface (the blurry image), and a refractive image off the mirrored side.
This can also happen on prints if you make this same mistake on the laser mirrors.
So check the mirrors. The light should shine against the coated side of the mirror, not the clear glass side.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I saw something similar to this on an old MX-C311. The machine was in a very dusty environment, and the board on the laser unit was covered in dust. Cleaning off the board seemed to fix the problem, but it was just temporary. We eventually had to replace the laser unit. This may or may not relate to your problem, since it was a very different model, but it's something to check.
