Re: MX-M904 Finisher Jams in the Saddle Fold entrance area.
The finisher is used. I don't know exactly what you are asking but since its used there have been thousands of sheets through finisher. If you are just asking how many sheets make it when doing the saddle jobs then I can say that it completes about 4 to 6 books of 6 or 8 sheets fine and then it jams.
it only jams on saddle fold and stitch.

Re: MX-M904 Finisher Jams in the Saddle Fold entrance area.
I upgraded to the latest firmware. I still get the same finisher jams in the saddle entrance. 2 to 3 sheets usually are jammed at the top transport entrance area. I ran about 40 books and it jammed about 7 to 10 times. One or two of the books even came out of the finisher with the pages out of order.
Any other clues?
I did look at the paper feed rollers and assemblies and did not find any broken parts as per the last suggestion section 21, item 7.
If you know of any other things to try please let me know.
Thanks

Re: MX-M904 Finisher Jams in the Saddle Fold entrance area.
I would start by swapping out the inlet sensor FSS201
fn22.JPG
If multiple pages are bunching up at Saddle inlet port roller, that would indicate .....
1. Roller is sometimes not being driven....is there a one way bearing in drive train of this roller?
2. paper is entering at an incorrect angle to hit the nip between inlet roller and mating guide roller....

Re: MX-M904 Finisher Jams in the Saddle Fold entrance area.
I replaced the sensor. I adjusted the solenoid for the entrance gate. Still jams. I found that the entrance plate on the saddle assembly was crooked a little bit. I loosened it up and re-mounted it properly. Also found the entrance are had a bent piece of guide plastic. I fixed that as well. Cleaned all the drive rollers from the top entrance all the way in to the folder.
Still jams.
I don't know what else to do except start replacing all the rollers etc...
So, I found another used finisher without the 3 hole punch and cutter. I may just take that one over and connect it just to get it running. The customer only needs saddle stitch and saddle fold.
If you have any ideas let me know. It may be something crazy like a bent frame or a warped shaft.
I will keep you all posted.
Thanks for all the help so far.

Re: MX-M904 Finisher Jams in the Saddle Fold entrance area.
Try the finisher without the punch unit; I would be surprised if the jams still occurred. The punch units had a problem of 'gumming' up, and causing jams.

Re: MX-M904 Finisher Jams in the Saddle Fold entrance area.
Instead of fiddling around with the finisher, since it is a new install for the customer, I got another finisher with the same options. FN22 with Cutter, 3 hole, saddle fold and stitch. I removed the old one and installed the newer used one and it now works fine with no jams.
Thank you all for the input. I just could not keep the customer waiting so I had to just replace the entire finisher.
Thanks again.
