Ok I will give it a try.

I posted at the same time you did. Make sure we are talking about the same bypass model.

    Thanks

Ok sounds like that is a unit I have not worked on. I was thinking standard type bypass. Not sure on any help I can give.

    Re: Sharp MX-M904 Image Shift

Does anybody have an answer for this issue?

I need to center the image on 12 X 18 and all other paper sizes from the multi bypass tray. The bypass is Model MX-MF11 and sits on top of the high capacity trays 5 and 6.

Is there any way to adjust the centering of the image? I can only get it to move the image down and not up. I need it to move at least 1/4 inch from the bottom. I can only shift it in the software and it only allows me to move the image closer to the bottom edge of the paper.

Is there a mechanical adjustment? Maybe a set up mistake?

I need some clues if you have any.

    Thanks in advance.

Does the copier read the proper size of the paper you are loading on the bypass tray.

If not the service manual says

Press the [Tray Paper Settings] key on the operation panel to
select paper sizes that are not detected automatically by the combination
of paper size and paper length sensor readings

I just read earlier in your thread the paper size was reading properly.

Have you tried adjusting the centering with sim 50-10?

    Re: Sharp MX-M904 Image Shift

No I have not tried sim 50-10. The high cap trays are centered so will this mess them up if I use sim 50 -10?

I can go back and give it a try.

They are running 80 pound card 12X18 and it does see the size on the display panel. I can select bypass tray and it shows 12X18 heavy stock.

I can feed out of tray 5 and 6 and it is centered. But after a few sheets it jams from those trays. So I am hoping after I get the bypass centered it will not jam feeding from that unit.

I will try sim 50-10 and see if it works out.

Thanks for the tip. I am desperate at this point. Lol... Thank you!

In sim 50-10 you can choose which tray (including bypass tray) you want to adjust.

All other trays will not be affected.

    Re: Sharp MX-M904 Image Shift

Thank you very much for the info. I went to the account today and ran 50-10 on HCT Bypass tray and the data setting was on 48. I had to move it to 95 and now its perfectly centered on 12 X 18 and all other paper sizes.

Thanks again. You saved me. lol.... I really apricate your advice.

For some reason they don't have the tray adjustment listed when you install the bypass unit. It just tells you to install it and how. I could not find a place in the service manual for this adjustment until I asked you on this forum. Seems odd that they would not run you through this on the installation.

    Thank You !!!!!!

The adjustment is covered during training.

Ah, that makes sense. I did not have any formal training on this model. Just have the service documentation. Thanks for all the help.
