Can you get to the web page through a crossover cable with the laptop in the copier's current IP range?
If so, you can make changes there, reboot and then change settings.

I haven't tried that, Zootech, but I will give it a try.

Re: MX-3640 unable to access network settings

I doubt anyone who knew what they were doing set the machine to 192.168.1.1. Change your laptop IP to 192.168.1.2. Run a network cable between laptop and copier.

    Change IP address

Download and run Advanced IP scanner

Run the IP scanner on the range 192.168.1.1-254

Scan the range, you should get two live replies, one from your laptop and one from the machine.

Browse to the IP of the machine while still connected and make needed changes.

Thank you, Mansart. The actual IP the is set to the copier is 192.168.1.111, the network operates on a 192.168.0 octet, I was just using the 192.168.1.1 as an example. I will use what you have given me, I appreciate the help.

Re: MX-3640 unable to access network settings

Thank you for all your help! it turns out that I had made a mistake with the IP octet the prior visits. It was on a 192.168.1.10.111 as opposed to my 192.168.1.1.111. It took a second look at it today and discovered my over site. Once I made connection with the mfp I was able to get into the service web page and make the changes Spanky and Mansart had suggested.
