did you guys happen to actually do the 50-10 adjustment for the trays when setting up the machines? also these machines are known for bad fusers. I have had to wrap the pod1 flag spring another wrap on several machines to resolve random jamming issues. also make sure firmware is up to date.

I am not familiar with sim 50-10, so I would say, "no."

Our Sharp Tech Rep is coming to talk to us on the Jan 30th 2020. I will post the determination.

There are a bunch of things they have recommended that we do.

Change paper weight settings, change the paper used, lower fusing temp, rebuild fuser, replace fuser, clean the fusing rollers, etc...

I think we are up to 12 machines that are doing it

If you're setting up a machine/ or after replacing parts/repairing machine, don't rely on 50-28. This will get you in the 'ball park" settings; but to be more precise, do 50-12, 50-10, and 50-6, and settings for each drawer.

Is 50-10 the drum phase auto adjustment?

If so, I don't usually set up the machines...

It is image registration adjustment manual mode. It is a required step of mfp setup and I usually check it on service calls because a lot of machines we sent out weren’t done. 50-28 has been removed via firmware so if you don’t do this adjustment you could be dealing with a timing issue and chase your tail for nothing. Basically you want to do all the trays main/sub that are installed. You need a mm ruler. Tolerance for Phoenix is 2.0 mm main +/- 0.5 mm and sub is 4.0 mm +/- 0.5 mm. Each series of machines is different so make sure to check the book for correct values.

    Update...

So sharp had originally told us to change the paper weight settings to 16-28 lbs in device control.

    This made the problem worse.

Current orders are to reduce fusing heat -5 or -10.

This does not seem to work that well, though...

The 50-28 is no longer on these models. In setup, you HAVE TO do a 50-10. Very simple.
The bulletin tt-070918_1 states how to check temp offset.
I set up all the machines for my company and during setup of these models I do a 50-10 and 43-1 as follows, fuser temp level to -10 then fuser condition adj setting to default, then under system settings to common settings to device control, the plain paper setting is set for 16-23 lb paper. almost no curl occurs. I have had to lower the inlet guide plate to lowest max to insure the paper goes straight to the roller belt nip area and NOT at an angle. hope this helps

I would make the lead edge and trail edge voids 1mm larger than what the manual says. Remember the trail edge of the first side becomes the lead edge of the second side when duplexing.

I have tried this. Once it starts wrapping, even the cleaning page will wrap which has a massive gap on the first side and no printing on the second side...
