Sharp MX-M904 Error Code U6-63 Paper Tray Desk Trouble

I tried to reset this code several times. It allows me to reset it but then it comes back. It has to do with the Manual bypass try on top of the HIGH CAP trays 5 and 6. Any clue?

I looked at the sensors and cleaned them. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 resets to get it to clear but then it works for a few days until it comes back.

Any advice would be great!!

have you run sensor test in SM?

I have not run the sensor test. can you tell me which one it is?

I can try to run it on next call to check it.

But, like I said. it will clear and function for a while and then error out again. So I am guessing that I may not get a sensor error until it fails again.

In any case I would still like to know which test to run if you can give me that info.

To access the height position sensors, you need to remove the bypass tray unit covers, then remove the whole lift tray assembly. The sensors and the lift cam are inside the frame.
There is a lower limit sensor (MLLS), and 2x paper height sensors (MPVS1 and MPVS2). You'll need to access the sensors directly to test these.
The Upper limit sensor (MULS) can be activated for testing by lowering & lifting the PF roller.

Have you seen this happen?
At what stage does it fail?

Reseat all harnesses on controller board and interface harness to the high capacity trays.

I could not get the problem to come back. So for now I have to wait for it to fail again.

I do now have another small issue. The customer is complaining about the machine going in to power save mode to soon. Is there a way to set the power save mode timer? Can I make it not go in to power save mode for about 2 or 3 hours?

I can't find the settings for this.

Any help would be appreciated.

From the service manual

Trouble content
The lower limit position is not detected within the
specified time (10sec) from the start of descending the
manual feed tray.


Section PCU
Cause Lower limit sensor trouble.
Manual feed tray lift motor lock.
Connection trouble of the connector and the harness.
PWB trouble.


Check & Remedy
Use SIM04-02 and SIM04-03 to check the operations
of the lower limit position sensor and the manual fed
tray lift motor.
Wiring check.
Fix the trouble, and use SIM15 to cancel the trouble.

Any advice on setting the Power saver mode time out? I want to set it for about 2 hours if possible.

There should be an energy save setting accessible from the panel settings or the web page. I think the max is two hours.
