They are great machines, fast workhorses built like tanks, but getting old. Make sure it's a 753n model not 753u ("u" means no networking/printing). Most of the ones we serviced have been replaced with newer machines. As of right now parts are still readily available but that could start being an issue in the next couple years. For the age I hope you aren't paying much. How many copies does the one you're thinking of buying have on it?

its got 143,000 on it. asking 2500?

I have no idea about pricing but 143k is nothing on one of these. Hasn't even reached its first maintenance cycle yet (due every 300k). Should be basically trouble free until 1.5-2m and they will go well beyond that with some maintenance.

Just make sure you install the latest firmware on it as well.

We replaced some toshibas with some of this model at a school. They have been very reliable and have cut down our calls a lot.

Only issue we have had with these are issues with fuser drive gears wearing badly!
