    MXC304 DSPF scan problem

    Hello all,

We have a client who marks pages with fluo-marker.

When they scan RectoVerso, the Verso fluo is much less fluo than the Recto

I tried some sims in 46, but can't seem to get this one right...

    Any help would be great...

    See scan in attachment.

When scanning change the exposure to the photo mode, it will pick up all colors.

    I agree.
Change the auto exposure settings or color mode to 'Full Color' instead of Auto. This will help.

However, have you checked this is not a DSPF Calibration problem? Have you scanned a 64-05 test print on both sides and compared the results with non-fluro marked pages? You may have a DSPF calibration issue that needs adjusting.
You'll need the SIT Chart to calibrate the CCD in sim 63: (UKOG-0356FCZZ).

Definitely try different AE modes first, but going by your sample, you have a big difference in calibration values on both CCD units.

I always scanned in full color.

    Tried 'photo': same problem.

Text looks the same on front and back.

    UKOG-0356FCZZ: already tried that
    UKOG-0020QSZZ: already tried that

Also: i scanned the same page on 4 different MXC304W machines, they all do exactly the same thing.

Same scan on a MX5141, scans perfectly.

I think its a hardware limitation...but i asked here to be sure

    Now this makes sense.
Checking the manual, the DSPF contains a CIS Scanner, while the main scanner contains a CCD Unit. Two totally different units for scanning, two totally different results.
The 5141 you tested on, has 2x CCD Units, resulting in both sides of the paper having same output.
    Great diagnostics.
