MX M453 "Remove paper from offset tray"
I know this is a stupid question. But just replaced FN X9. Copier say to remove paper from offset tray after a print job then a copy job started. The customer has to turn the machine off to reset.
I haven't looked at the exit tray sensor yet. I am not sure why the machine wouldn't allow continuous copy even with paper in the exit tray.
Could it be the security software on the copier. Or do I need to just go there and look at the sensor.
I feel like it might be something Sharp crazy.
Has anyone had an issue like this. Thanks for the info.

Re: MX M453 "Remove paper from offset tray"
If I remember correctly the FN9 went to several different series machines and after installing Sharp recommended upgrading the firmware. Had a lot of odd issues that were resolved by a firmware upgrade with this generation.
Good luck.

Agreed with bilyhahn, is the firmware up to date?

It may be the harness. They break along the vertical gudie. Located under the tray, rear side. It bends, and sometimes wears out the wire.

I dont see any kind of settings that could cause that message. The only thing I can think of is the exit sensor on the output unit is bad or the sensor actuator is stuck making machine think there is paper there.

replace the tray height sensors...i believe there are 3 and check the harness to the paper detect sensor on the tray. if the harness is not routed correctly it can get stretched and will cause that error.

Check the 3 height sensors like repn1999 said and look at the harness, Ive had some of those rip and cause that issue. You can also go into sim mode to test out the sensors and see if one specifically is not working properly. Off the top of my head its sim 3-3 or 3-2 but I might be wrong.
