No default Gateway is possible on the extended LAN.
Some other restrictions on the extended LAN are No PC Scan (TWAIN), No WSD and the Job Log cannot show differences in source network.

    Just out of curiosity....

What is the "extended lan" option?

I'm in the USA market and not familiar with this option. Is its purpose to put a machine on two separate networks?

Yes, there are options to install a USB-Network dongle to the rear USB Port and once enabled you'll see 2 Network Menus in system settings.
Have a look at any current model printer brochure to see the details.

It happens so that I have a TL-UE300 adapter so I've decided to give it a try with Sharp MX-6071.
I've plugged it in to the back USB port and nothing. No additional network menu. Rebooted the machine, still nothing.
Is there something a Sharp dealer will have to unlock first, before it starts working? Or am I missing some configuration steps?

    Thanks!

    Correct.
Extended LAN must be enabled first.
Once done, you will see a new Extended LAN network option within Network Settings menu where you can configure the second network.
Under Security Settings, there's also a Port Control option for the second network as well.
A great feature of the Extended LAN is that you now can have 3 connections to the MFD instead of just 2.....Wired, Wireless Access Point and Extended LAN.
