    MX3070 & MX3071 fusers

Howdy folks, anybody put a MX3071 fuser rebuild kit into a MX3070?

I put a MX3050 fusing belt assembly beside a MX3071 quickly and i didn't see any difference other than the belt was a different color. I don't have a MX3070 lower roller in stock at the moment as it's in a rebuilt fuser to compare it to the MX3071.

The MX5070 fuser belt assembly has some flanges and a metal roller vs a foam roller inside but the frame seems identical.

I'd love to just stock 1 or 2 parts vs 4.

    Thanks

    Re: MX3070 & MX3071 fusers

I just had to rebuild a 5070 fuser, i put the old frames of a 3070 and 5070 side by side. I also used a MX601LH in this case as im out of stock on the MX607LH. I had one of the other offices check the difference between them. The 601 has alot more shine on the lower roller.

As for the 5070 vs the 3070. Two main differences, the 5070 has metal collars and a metal tension roller.
    3070 ontop, 5070 on bottom.

To be honest i don't see why you couldn't fit a 5070 fusing belt into a 3070 in a pinch. I don't think i'd want to put a 3070 into a 5070 however as those collars are probably to prevent meadering.

As for putting a 3071 belt into a 3070. I don't know that it will be an issue as most machines should be running the new toner/dv by now so in theory should work? Everything looks pretty much identical.

I've put the 3070 belt in a 5070 unit without any problems. Fuser seemed to run hotter but that could just be my imagination as this was in a problem machine we have. Goes through fusers like toner cartridges

    Thank you for the info

    Hey Bil,

We had alot of issues as well with 5070 fusers to start as well. One problem was we went into device control and set to plain paper 2 for the extra heat.
Sharp also released a flow chart to make sure your not having cold/hot offset. See attached. REP2342A.pdf

Something to try suggested by tech support.

Power down, remove the fuser, close the door and power back up. When install fuser shows up power back down and install fuser, close door and power back up. This will force the PCU to re calibrate it's self to the "new" thermistors.

Thank you for the flow chart and the suggestion. I did not see this anywhere on the US tech site. Gotta wonder sometimes
