    Mx-3070N Beeping

    Hi,
I have an MX-3070N that we bought used. It makes a little beep when I turn on the main switch, when I turn on the switch on the operation panel & when it comes out of sleep. Occasionally we can hear it when it's sleeping without it working. (a bit like an alarm system that needs a new battery)

So far I have done a factory reset, flashed the firmware (normally & emergency) & copied a clone from another machine. I also noticed when comparing with the other machine that the dip switches had been changed. So I tried to change them to default but without success.
It beeps even if I remove the fax, finisher & leave the network disconnected ...

Apart from the beep, the machine works perfectly.

I'm starting to run out of ideas & I think sharp too.

    Any idea ?
    Thanks

You can turn off pretty much all sounds in System Settings logged in as Admin.
You can also unplug the speaker as I do not believe Sharps give a speaker error.

Failing to plan is planning to fail!!!

    Thanks for the reply
I tried to turn off the sounds in admin but it don't change anything for the beep.
As for the speaker , I will try to find out where it's comming from. I have no idea where is that speaker. I never heard a sharp making that beep. It's not from the touch panel & not from the fax speaker.

I just searched the parts manual & I saw an option from Japan with a speaker but I'm in canada & the machine comes from the US.

    Thanks again.

The only time I have seen this is when the copier was plugged into a UPS. The UPS was making the beeping sound whenever the copier first fired up.

    Thanks everyone for the help.

I have found a "wave ID" card reader inside the machine that was making the beep.

    Good to know!
