Faxin Issues - 71 series Copiers (Color & Mono)

Has anyone else been having issues replacing 70 series machines with faxes, and the new 71's not sending or receiving faxes? We adjust the fax settings for a VOIP line ( adjust baud rate, turn off ECM, turn on Digital Line, amplify the dB's) The symptoms are the incoming fax comes in, then prints out a blank page. The transmitting fax sends, then errors out.

Normally, I would not post about something so routine... but, 4 different locations, and different providers for the phone lines... it's strange to say the least.

Oh, and if I hook up a Sharp MX-B355W, that worked.

Let me know if your having any of the same issues, or else, I feel like I'm just losing my mind.

SIM 66-10 to dump memory
SIM 66-1 SW114 bit 8 change to 0
SIM 66-2 set country code.
Change coding to MH from JBIG (JBIG works with ECM), turn off V.34 and make sure you are using a 2 line wired phone cord.
What happens when you fax manually ?
If TX is failing, there will be an error code in the machine fax logs.

Get to the point of sending, then error out. When receiving faxes, would print out a blank page.

Turned out we had to replace the FX15, it was defective.

I have had one at my branch and another branch of ours has had 2 in the few month. Swapping the FX15 fixed it on mine, I'm still dumbfounded by it. I had a standalone fax that worked fine but the 3051 would do the same thing Fail right before it finished up TX and on RX would look good until right at the end. Error and spit out a blank page. I cleared Image Mem, Reset Fax SS back to default and flashed firmware. I swapped the FX15 back and forth several times to make sure I wasn't crazy.

I brought that very same FX15 back to my office and installed on a 4071 and it faxed perfectly fine. I have it marked as possible defective and am testing it out on various machines that we set-up. The ones we have had issues with have just been installed on MX-3051's though.
