Hello Team,
I have just initialized a new Sharp MX-M3060N that has been sitting in the box for 3 years and it prints fine as can be seen from the attachment Original.pdf, however when making a copy it prints like the attachment Copy.pdf
Can anyone shed a light as to what is going on in this unit? Another issue is it wont allow me to enter with the default "admin" password when attempting to enter the Administrator Console
Please assist guys....
Looks like the copy ratio is reduced and the "black band" is the machine trying to fill the void.
Does it do this from ADF and platen glass ?
Enter SIM mode and run 48-1, then 50-28

This is not a new device if the admin password is not working. Either perform Data Initialize or contact Sharp to perform admin password reset procedure.
What firmware is installed on this device? There's been a lot of updates over the last 3 years.
When you place the original on the glass, what size is detected in copy mode?
When you place the original in the document feeder, what size is detected in copy mode?
Looks like the original is not detecting as the correct size, causing reduction. The image is correct, but incorrectly reduced and offset.

Also tried with a3 paper does the same thing. also tried A4R did the same thing
On other Sharps I've seen a laser unit failure cause symptoms like this, and there isn't enough adjustment to bring it back to where it needs to be. =^..^=

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Tried disconnecting the wiring from the document feeder as i wanted to dismantle the entire top, reached the part of dismantling the display but kinda got fedup so returned it back and tested it worked fine in both color and black......switched it off, changed the document to a new image to copy and back to its old tricks again....
Also scanning to usb does the same thing
That rules out the laser. =^..^=
