    Question MX-M904 ERROR L4-31

Anyone ever experience this error comes out on MX-M904?

    L4-31

description - Machine heat-exhaust fan trouble

I runs the Sim6-02 and the exhaust fan running smoothly.
I checked on main power supply pcb and found the fuse F305 blown so I replace with the same rate 6.3 Amp. Reset the error. After turn on the machine the error still comes out. I found the fuse F305 blown again. Here I suspect there is short circuit around the machine but Have no Idea where is it

Any suggestion are really appreciated in advance.

More Info: after checked the error history on the machine. there are many others error related to L4. e.g
    L4-30, L4-32,L4-34 ETC

Does it have the upgraded pwb's. They were upgraded to prevent over- current and could possibly cause this issue.

    Re: MX-M904 ERROR L4-31

I have check the paper feed driver pcb and the delivery drive pcb is E1.

But I check the fuse F305 is supply to PCU pwb. (blown fuse) PCU pwb version 2. (F3)
F304 for delivery driver pcb (this not Blown)
F303 for paper feed driver pcb (this not blown)

On my opinion the Paper feed driver pcb and the delivery driver pcb nothing to do with the F305 fuse blown.

Is it can be the PCU pwb is problem?

I have had the same problem and it was caused by the PWB located at the exit side of the copier, some kind of short was causing the fuse to blow. Can't remember the name of the PWB but if you remove the finisher and then the cover just below the exit you will see the board I am talking about. Replaced that board and problem resolved.

    Good luck

Although come to think of it I believe I had a couple of other issues as well. It's been a few years since this happened. But worth a look.
