If tech support didn't suggest this, Sharp has really gotten bad. The 2 that come to mind are the paper detect and the reg sensor where the paper makes the turn. These unit will have literal piles of paper dust when used frequently. You can also pull the job log and see if a jam is registered there.


    I tested all sensors in ADF with Sim 2-2, all passed.
    The jam codes listed are SPPD2_N SPPD4_S SPPD1_N but they are from April, not recent.

    If you are not getting a jam code I would check the switch for the document feeder lid closed and the sensors for any document feeder covers that can be opened.

    If one of them intermittently opens the document feeder will stop working and when the switch closes again you will get a remove jam message but no jam code.
