    Mx-m3570 drawer 2 inop

Anyone seen this happen? Says open drawer two and won’t work. We have cleared code on service mode, replaced tray, paper lift motor and feed assembly with paper detect and says same thing. This has the multiple tray lower deck. Any thoughts?

Does it only say Open Tray 2 or is there more to the message like ..and add paper?

What is the code that you cleared in in service mode?

    Error f3-22

cleared feed errors and frankly every error we could in service mode and rebooted after each.
swapped parts with other drawers and they work fine. Still drawer two shows ready after you clear errors just empty of paper so when you choose it then it tells you to open it and when you go through open and close it goes into an error code. All the other 3 drawers work just fine.

I had something similar to this and fixed it by reseating the connector for the desk unit. Not sure but this connector is very finicky/tight and has to be done just right. Doesn't take much for it not to work properly.

    Good luck

Does the tray lift when you close it?

If it does then you have a paper empty sensor or an upper limit lift sensor issue.

If not you could have an issue with the cabinet detecting the paper tray has been inserted.

I agree the connectors for the paper cabinet can be inserted crooked and some of the connections may not make contact.

It does not lift. I unplugged and plugged All connectors with same result. Tried new tray, paper lift motor, paper detect assembly and only tray 2 is inop.

swap tray #2 with tray #3 and see if the problem moves with the paper tray.

If it moves with the tray then the tray is the issue.

If it does not move with the tray try replacing the paper size detect switches in the back of the desk, I believe that is what tells the copier the tray has been inserted.

There is a sensor on the back wall of the paper feed cabinet what tells the machine when the paper tray has been inserted properly.

Please read my original quote I did all that

QUOTE=spanky;2033033]swap tray #2 with tray #3 and see if the problem moves with the paper tray.

If it moves with the tray then the tray is the issue.

If it does not move with the tray try replacing the paper size detect switches in the back of the desk, I believe that is what tells the copier the tray has been inserted.[/QUOTE]

F3-22 is a Tray 1 code. Are you sure it's a Tray 2 issue? Like stated above, did you add paper? Reseating the connector is also definitely a good idea.
