Even with the check firmware setting set to OFF, error still comes back.

We dont know anything or anyone who repairs motherboards, nor has Sharp ever told us of such a thing, so replacing the board seems like the only option.

This just popped into my mind again, and the strange thing is, this only happens if you update the FW to a specific version, i dont know what version, but a lot of machines give this error the day after you did a FW update.

We have the information in Germany that the mSATA may be damaged. You need to change that and do a FW Update, then it should work normally.
The IP Adress will get lost, when you change the mSATA.

"The error code U2-74 is usually displayed when the firmware files are corrupted. According to the service manual, this error can be resolved by updating the firmware with Sim 49-1. However, in this case, the update was not successful. The cause of the issue was a defective eMMC /mSATA module."

I recently went down the rabbit hole with this code on a MX-8081. We replaced the mSata without success. My DSS recommended running sim 60-1 Memory Check. I found that ICUM tested NG, which is a soldered on DIMM to the MFP pwb. Replacing the MFP pwb resolved the issue.

Agreed, this is an excellent way to verify if it is the board or Msata that is causing the error. Hopefully you can fix it with the first component every time once the issue has been verified through sim 60-1

    Re: U2-74

    Guys,
We had two MX-3571's having the code. One the screen would go blank on, the other one just kept popping the code. We ended up having to replace both MFP/SCN PWB's in those units.
I found this out, the reason why the error goes away is because the DDR4 is corrupted for a certain lot of these machines.
So, Hytec repairs are the cheapest way to go with it.
Or, if you have a lease return going back, swap it out, the machine will be fine when the leasing company checks it out.
