    Exclamation Fiery PE-10 MX-6500N

We have a PE-10 that has been sitting in our warehouse for a handful of years now. We recently received a MX-6500N back from a customer who was leasing it from us and we are setting it up in our showroom and going to connect the fiery to it to show all the options available. I followed all of the installation steps in the manual, retraced my steps, uninstalled, reinstalled, reseated all my connections and I am receiving a "Check copier power and cable connections" error in the Fiery OS. I updated to the newest production, eManual and special firmware for the copier and still I am receiving the issue. I went through tech bulletin TT-122321_1 and it suggested a patch through the Fiery OS as well. After installing that patch I am still receiving the same issue. I followed up by making sure all of my Windows and JAVA updates were up to date (and yes I made sure to avoid updating to Windows 10).

After talking to Tech support, and following their suggested tips, which were pretty much everything I have done I am stuck and at a standstill. The last thing I was told by one of the tech agents was to replace the interface board in the Fiery. Other support agents never made that suggestions so I think thats one of the last things we want to try. Any tips? TIA

What is the configuration of this device. Please list every option you have installed.
Check you have patch number FIT38605 installed as part of Service Pack 2. There is a known fix for this message included within.
If you have the MXRB14 and MXLC13 combination fitted, make sure the RB14 is correctly locked into the engine and the locking screw on the front of the LC13 is loose.

Make sure the cable is connected to the correct port on the Fiery. There are 2 ports it can connect to, and if connected to the wrong one it will give this message.

Yes, that's absolutely correct. Forgot that one.

Where do I find what the correct port is? When I looked on the back of the PE10 the only different port options there are, are for USBs. Everything else is plugged into the only port that will fit the cords.

    Thanks

This is in regards to the network cables. Top one near the Power Supply is for the client network, the lower one near the USB ports is the Fiery/MFP connection using the supplied straight through cable. It's the one with the metal plugs on each end.
Plugging these in opposite and you'll get that message.

Check the dhcp is turned on and that there is an ip address in the copier. It should be something like 192.168.100.x from memory, but I might be wrong, but the copier should get issued an ip from the Fiery regardless. Unless this happens it won't work. The video cable does the print, the network port does the comms, so it could well be something as simple as that. Also, always switch on Fiery 1st, allow to boot and then copier 2nd.

We made sure all ports are correctly plugged in, we have reloaded Fiery system software, gone through and redownloaded all patches and updates for the Fiery, updated for Windows (not Windows 10) and enabled DHCP. Issue still is present. What are the chances we have to replace the interface board? That is one of the only other things that Sharp support has to suggest.

I tried calling EFI support but we do not have the $400 year long tech support subscription that they have so they wouldn't talk to us. Thanks for all of yalls help so far.

    Re: Fiery PE-10 MX-6500N

Possibly silly question, but does the actual MX6500 operate OK in copy mode, when switched back to the Sharp Interface instead of the Fiery Interface?
Fiery will report error messages like this if something is wrong not only in the Fiery Controller side of operation.
