    70 series finisher question

We have a client that has an MX-FN-29 finisher for saddle stitching their booklets and they have decided that they now want to be able to trifold letter size paper. I'm not sure if this model finisher has the ability to tri fold the paper 1) I looked at the specs but does not have trifold listed as a capability 2) I also went into the others icon on the screen and all I see is a regular fold in half as an option.
Is there a finisher for this series that has the capability to trifold letter size paper? I have looked at the specs of the FN-30/31 and do not see tri folding letter paper as an option.

I don't think Sharp has anything like that until you get into the MX-7090N or MX8090N. I see something called a Multi Fold Unit for that series.

    Correct.
If you want Tri-Fold (as well as Z-Fold, C-Fold or Double-Fold), you need to go up to the Polaris series devices with the Multi-Fold Unit and FN22 Finisher (so you'll also have Saddle-Fold).
All models smaller than the Polaris series - (MX6240, MX7040, MX6580, MX7580, MX7081, MX8081, MX7090, MX8090, along with the Hercules BW models) will only allow Saddle Fold in the current configuration.

Sharps new A4 series has an optional inner finisher that offers tri-fold, z-fold and other fold patterns. These are the 26-45ppm models.

    Sounds like fun.

I can only image the long list of modifications in the tech bulletins.

Sounds like it's going to squeak to high hell. Trifold in an inner finisher? It's going to be a pain in the ass to replace those belts.

Looks and sounds good, but, with the recent merger with Lexmark, I almost feel like there is going to be a list of issues and it becoming technicians nightmare, I hope not. I like the fact that the doc feeders are at least 300 sheets.
