    Sharp MX2640

Went out on a Sharp MX2640 with the RSPF document feeder. I can put one set of documents in the ADF and they will feed fine. If i try to put a second set the ADF. The machine no longer recognizes paper in the ADF tray and will not feed from the document feeder. If the machine is power cycled the Document feeder will once again feed paper (one time) then it no longer works. I have tested the ADF switches after power cycling the machine and they all test good. After I feed a set (either one page or multiple) the paper input sensor no longer registers paper. Has anyone else seen this. I have also heard there might have been a tech bulletin concerning the sensors. Has anyone else seen this. Thanks

That bulletin is MFP-TB-1025. Target production months are October 2012 thru March 2013.
Try firmware first (because it's free).
    Good luck!

Cycle power. Get machine to state where doc feed will work. Don't feed originals.

Go to SIM 2-2, take picture of display, it will show you what sensors are active and which are not active.

Run set through doc feed. Return to SIM 2-2

Compare results. The switch showing different state than original picture should be your problem.

I have had Sharps do this before and it has always been a sensor.

Replaced the RSDF driver PCB and that took care of the problem ( I tried replacing the DF input sensor but that did not resolve the problem)
