    Sharp MX-5141 Factory Reset

    Gettings all.

I just recently purchased a Sharp MX-5141 in working order or so I think at Auction here in Phoenix. However, I need to set the machine back to its original factory settings and wipe everything from the previous company that used it.

Any help would be appreciated before it drives me crazy trying to figure out where the reset is.

    Thanks in advance

Thank you so much. Was able to get the original admin password and change what was needed. Got it connected to the WiFi network and am now in the middle of trying to get the MAC and PC's to be able to print. The machines can see the copier, but for some reason it will not print passed the que even though the machines can see the copier.

It must be a settings problem somewhere that I am unfamiliar with. At least I know the machine works, can copy and scan and is connected to the WiFi.

Odd thing though. When the MX5141 is connected via cat6, after 30 seconds the control screen freezes and then the copier reboots. Once rebooted, it will freeze on Please Wait in the lower right hand of the control panel. I know the Cat6 is good since it was connected to a PC and it was running for a year with no issues.

Another puzzle to track down and fix.

Hi there one small tip check that the copier is not connected to a switch with POE as sharp copiers do strange things when connected to POE switch. If it is connected to POE switch change setting on that port of the switch to POE power off.

Another thing to check is the MFP board the socket gets dirt in and it can cause also rats of faults slide the board out and clean the contacts with contact cleaner and push the board back I have had many strange faults on this range caused by that problem MX-5140 4140 4141 5141N
