    Sharp MX-M453N copy/scan problem

    Good Morning Everyone,

Just want to know what's the cause of this sudden change in copy and scan of Sharp MX-M543N which is not the case before.

Whenever the machine came from off state or stand-by mode always the first copy or first scan from adf have stretch problem in the middle even it is 10 pages or less only the first page making that problem, but after that first activity on the machine all the copy and scan are all good.

I'm surprised no one has answered...

But, that image is small. Like, I need a microscope to even see the picture. Can you upload a better picture for us to see?

    Thank you.

Hard to see but I see some colors stretched. Have you tried it in black and white scan?

sorry for the late reply, was out of the country for a month.

yes the same either b & w or colored, even in copying same stretch is happened.

I can change the whole adf, but want to know the real reason why is it occurred.
        cleaned everything, gears, solenoid... rubbers.

Does it happen when you use the platen glass, or only in adf? Do you see a delay in the paper while feeding though the adf? Are all grounds in adf and scan boards tight? If you can swap the adf with another.

only in adf with the platen glass there is none. and no delay in the paper while feeding through the adf.

yeah swapping the adf with another is that's the only solution with me right now. unless i get to find the culprit on this problem.

It could be a clutch, but the easiest thing, if you have another doc feeder is to swap to see if that resolves the issue, first.

Yep, just yesterday I replaced the doc... and no problem. now i will disassemble the whole adf in workshop to be sure and i will thoroughly clean it parts by parts.

                  thanks all for the input.

                      Good day!

Yesterday started disassembling the adf parts by parts... didn't find anything unusual so what I did before assembling each sections are:

                      1. Board section = brush and air blow.
                      2. Motors, solenoid and clutches = cleaned.
                      3. Rubbers = clean with dish soap and water and put a little silicon oil rather than grease on each end.
                      4. White guide against the rubber = use cutter to scrape.

After assembled, I try and no more stretched in the middle. So I guess just need some thorough cleaning on the adf.

Thanks to all and have a good day!
