    MX-M200D print problems

    Hi Peter,

I’m currently experiencing a strange problem with an MX-M200D, please see the attached PDF for an example.

    • MX-M200D
    • Machine is leaving lines on page. These lines also contain areas where the text has been repeated although in negative form. The lines are always in the exact same are and consist of one bold at start followed by a fainter one. This is occurring on A4 from Tray 1 and on A3 from Tray 2. On A3 the image is identical to the A4, that being that it occurs at the start and the remainder of the page is fine then reoccurs in the same areas on the next pages.
    • The problem never occurs on the first page. Image appears on runs longer than one single page. It gets progressively worse during pages 2 to 4 after that the image is constant on the remainder of the job.
    • I have changed the drum and blade twice. Cleaned all rollers, inspected the fuser and checked for firmware updates.
    • The thing that has us stumped, is that it doesn’t happen from the bypass?!?!?!

    Look forward to your ideas.

It looks like primary transfer cleaning to me. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Have not seen this on the MXM200 but on older machines it has been caused by the drum unit. If you have a spare I'd swap it out and see if it makes any difference.

    Good luck.

Machine has a transfer roller here, blackcat. OP said he replaced drum and cleaning blade, but not charge... I've seen a dirty charge do this exact same thing on the exact same model. In my case it was caused by a hair on the sawtooth grid.

    Re: MX-M200D print problems

    Got it sorted.

Blackcat was on the mark. There was a biuld up of toner inside the guard at the base of the transfer unit on the side door. So a thorough wipe and clean of the area did the job.

    Thnx for the input Guys

    Same machine, different problem.
I get sample.jpg"ghosts" while photocopying or printing as in the attached samples. There is no error message whatsoever, and the machine has been well maintained. Any thoughts, ideas? Thank you so much!

It's a black drum cleaning issue. You should be able to identify this condition easily on inspection. =^..^=
