    BizHub 751 punch unit PK-505 problem

    Hi,
    machine doesn't recognize punch unit, was working fine for few months, dipsw setting are ok, but there isn not option to punch on display nor in printer driver.

    what and how check?

    Check "Trouble Isolation"

    1.
    "Service Mode screen"Press [System 1].
    2.
    "System Input screen"Press [Trouble Isolation].
    3.
    "Trouble Isolation screen"Set the separation of each item by [Set] or [Unset].
    4.
    Press [END].System Input screen appears.

    Punch is "unset" and punch unit is moving and punching after closing finisher doors.

    The PK-505 is not selectable on the control panel after installation.
    Solution:
    PROBABLE CAUSES:
    1. Incorrect DIP switch settings.
    To enable the PK-505, please refer to the attached PK-505 Installation Manual page. To view the PDF, you may need to download a free copy of Adobe Reader®.

    Notes:
    a. If DIP switch 4-2 is set to 0 (OFF), the Punch Unit may work correctly when printing from the driver, but it is not available on the MFP front panel. Ensure that DIP switch 4-2 is set to 1 (ON).
    b. When enabling any DIP switch setting, confirm that the SET button is pressed after each DIP switch change.

    2. Failed Punch Driving Board assembly.
    Ensure that DIP switches 19-4 and 19-5 are set to 0 (Faulty Part Isolation = NORMAL). If the DIPSW settings are correct then replace the PDB (p/n 15KY H010 00).

    Since the punch was working, my guess is a bad control board...My shop guys say that about 25-30% of new setups have bad punch boards out of the box. EMujo
