No access "Invalid Redirect URL (http://www.copytechnet.com/)"

Moderator, I'm getting regularly this message when I try to log in: Invalid Redirect URL (Copytechnet Home)

Sometimes not, but the last days continuously. Only when I answer to a subscribed thread via the e-mail notification I am able to enter the site. This happens with all my computers and both Chrome and Firefox.

    What's wrong?

Hans maybe you should repost your thread in Site feedback section. Aneurysm is more likely to see it and react.

I'll investigate, it's a hard coded link going to the old HTTP link but the server should redirect it the HTTPS side along with everything else?

This is a browser-independent issue. No matter what browser you are using you will always get that error if you log in from "http://www.copytechnet.com". If you are using some kind of bookmark make sure it has wright address bookmarked "https://www.copytechnet.com" (and not "www.copytechnet.com" or "http://www.copytechnet.com").

Links sent to you by mail always include https://, that's why you login successfully every time.

Nice to see something from you. We've been worried what with you living in New York and the COVID-19 thing.

Indeed that did the trick. Now it works as you suggested. Thanks!

But why it suddenly changed is unclear to me.

It just took time for the change to https at the end of August last year to ripple through all the internet switches to where you are located. See Scheduled Downtime in System Announcements. Scheduled Downtime
