    MP 3054 vs MP C5503 K toner

How in the heck is a HUGE toner bottle in the MP 3054 rated for 24,000 pages and the K for the MP C5503 is rated at 33,000?? Am i missing something? I know one is 6% and the othe 5% respectively but still...seems off.

    Just curious!

Seems off to me as well. Those are indeed HUGE bottles for the xx54 series.
Up to the 3554 it says "Target = 24,000" for everything above that it's "Target = 37,000".
    C3503 Black "Target = 29,500"/ C5503 & C6003 Black "Target = 33,000".

One of those things i guess I've never payed attention to!
Different formulas and amounts in bottle I assume?
Maybe check to see how many grams of toner are supplied in each bottle? Could be a HUGE bottle only filled halfway with toner.

Yea i thought the same thing! You must be right...i haven't actually checked the grams but i'd assume the huge bottle is like you said, not filled all the way. Still seems like a waste though and you think Ricoh would want to pride themselves on a machine that can do 40k or over on one bottle. Unless like you said, it has a different formula and there is a reason it only goes so far. I know a Kyocera taskalfa 4501i i worked on for a customer had a toner with 46k yield!

However, in price comparison (depending on where you purchase it of course), the xx54 toner is cheaper per copy then the Metis C1 series, $0.002 vs $0.003 per copy. (i have a few customer's i'd say are 1/10 of a penny pinchers)

Haha oh well! Just thought it was interesting, thanks for your take.
