Re: toshiba estudio 355 paper jam in exit

I've been in those exit sections many times and there are several causes for jamming there. Most common is the duplex flap.. it could be damaged or have been pulled out of position by the customer pulling out a jam too hard. The exit section is not hard to remove, so you may want to do that and see if the solenoid is even still connected to the flap for proper operation. And Black Cat is right.. what is the jam code? And the other poster was correct in that the idiotic Registration Clutch causes A LOT of issues with jamming, throughout the machine! You'd never even guess it was the clutch until you replace it. Usually, I only have had to replace that clutch ONCE in the machine's life, because I think Toshiba modified it in some way a few years ago and they're better now.

    Let us know!

That entire exit assembly had been updated continuously over the life of the copier. The color in the picture tells me it still has the original exit assy as the updated ones were black. One issue that Toshiba talked about in an old bulletin was the fact that the duplex gate was not reacting fast enough and you could move it down which would cause it to move the duplex gate faster. This gate would only effect jamming in duplex though.

This is a list of the parts if you wanted to update the entire assy.

I'm still waiting for a jam code. You're really not going to use the machines internal diagnostics? I suppose it's just too easy if you can look up a jam code. =°..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
