Toshiba 6506ac - Is it fried?

Received a 7506ac and a 6506ac to get a feel for the AC line

    6506ac
    Turns on
    F101-1 off the bat
Cannot get into FS diagnostics - comes up F101-1
    Can get into HS diagnostics
USB port is not detecting when we have a USB drive in for FW
    Swapped the internal USB cable
Still does not detect USB drive is in

    We are stopped and stumped

We do know this cable and this thumb drive is good because we just a FW update on a 7506ac. We're at a loss because we can't get around anywhere else in the machine. Thoughts? What are we missing?

    ... a new e7516AC and e6516AC.

How many clicks are on each?

Did the 2nd copier power up OK?

HDD, SYS board, Setting 1. Turn the power of the equipment OFF and check the
    connection of the HDD.
    - Connector and harness check
    - Check if the connector pins of the HDD are bent.
    - Check if HDD for other equipment is not installed.
    - Check if SRAM for other equipment is not installed.
    2. If the error still occurs after step 1, perform the following.
    - Perform HS-73 Firmware Assist mode → Key
Backup/Restore and check that each Key Status is
    "OK".
    - If not, recover the key (copy "SRAM Key Status" to
"FROM Key Status" or vice versa).
    3. If the error still persists after step 2, perform the
    following.
    - Perform HS-73 Firmware Assist mode → Format
HDD, and then install "System software" (HS-49
Firmware Update mode → SYSTEM SOFTWARE
    (HD Data)).
    Notes:
The following items will be deleted by HS-73
Firmware Assist mode → Format HDD.
    • Message Log
    • Job Log
    • Spool Data (Print, Email reception)
    • Template
If F101_1 occurs with secure HDD or the error
persists after performing step 3, perform step 3 after
performing HS-74 HDD Assist mode → Revert
    Factory Initial Status HDD.
    4. If the error persists even after step 3, replace the HDD.
    5. If the error persists even after step 4, replace the HDD
    harness.
    6. If the error persists even after step 5, replace the SYS
    board.

A 7506ac and a 6506ac - NOT new, 6506ac issues off the bat, 7506ac is doing fine and dandy, cannot get meters from 7506ac right now.

We have the manual, we've done the process

This step FAILED. I've tried to upload a picture of what we're seeing the HS mode, but the site doesn't like my pic for some reason (upload of files failed).

First two keys are broken - HDDENCKEY - KeyBroken and HDDDECKEY - KeyBroken - everything else OK under SRAM and FROM
Thinking about swapping the SYS board from the 7506ac to the 6506ac, but we are not 100% sure that it's going to break something else.

Do not swap the board. It is uniquely keyed to the SED-HDD. It is do-able but a whole pile of work and you risk disabling the second working copier.

If you paid only a little for this used copier, you might want to consider it a parts machine.

That's about where we are with it. We kinda figured that. Unless you, Phil or Blackcat has some magical fix, that is what we'll do

It's a little bit late for creating board swapping issues, they've already been swapped around. If two or more boards have been changed at the same time it creates very difficult to resolve identity issue. I have second hand knowledge of issues like this being resolved, but don't know any of the details.

Do you have a tech rep you can call in? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I don't think we do. However, let me check on that. I gotta make a few calls.

We didn't swap the boards BTW. The only thing we changed out was the USB cable thinking it might be a bum cable since the 6506ac wasn't reading the USB.

If the keys don't match it's because the boards had already been swapped out before it came into your possession. =^..^=
