    Toshiba 3555c Maintenance

    Hi all,
Looking to put 4 of these on a Maintenance Contract. 2 low volume less than 50K meter each and the other two above 100K meter each. Gonna inspect these in order to see what may be needed prior to putting these on maintenance.

Would like suggestions and tips to look for and possible common problems and/or issues with this model if any.

They are using it to scan, fax, print and copy. Also there's no finisher. Dusty construction warehouse environment.

    thanks for any input!

    Re: Toshiba 3555c Maintenance

    Common maintenance items:

    1) Squeaks from the exit assy: Clean that nasty black lubricant from the bronze bushings at the lower exit. The exit shaft may need replacing. Use Triflow on the bronze and plastic bushings, and idler roller shafts. Use Mobilgrease28 or IBM23 on the white duplex idler shafts. Use conductive grease on the 2nd transfer roller ends.

    2) Check the developer unit drive gears. If you see developer in the 35 tooth gear on the mag roller, it's leaking developer. The lower speed machines got plastic bushings instead of roller bearings, and they just don't last. A good developer rebuild includes both augers, (4) ball bearings from the faster series, (4) rubber seals, the (4) gears, and developer.

Other than the relatively short PM cycle compared to Konica Minolta or Kyocera, they're solid machines that maintain their copy quality well, and not very dirty. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

What blackcat said. We encounter the exit assy squeaking CONSTANTLY. We've also had the white idler rollers just kinda disintegrate, but those were fairly high volume units.

Other than that, I can't think of really anything we've come across that he didn't mention. Solid ADF's, solid system internally, I've never had any network issues with any of them. You should be good to go.

And possible HDD failures (F101 etc). Make sure you have the latest FW on them, they are good machines.

Since the firmware improvements, I've replaced only (2) Toshiba HDDs in the last 12 months. =^..^=

100% no. Must be a genuine Toshiba SED-HDD. (Secure Encrypted drive)
