AFAIK on Toshiba when you do Initialize all you're not loosing just movie data like on KonMin. Some system FW on HDD is needed.

Sorry tbs, that's incorrect. You'll lose HDD and System software.
Phil is correct that the HDD must be addressed first. And you can't just use any hard drive. It must be the Toshiba Wipe Drive. The HDD must be formatted and service password initialized, the firmware re-loaded, the initialized in 08-9030. Best to review the manual before proceeding.

3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

annnnd thats a big problem with the 656 once it said hdd not found better ready a ton of money especially here in saudi
seen it, experience it and definitely hate it when it happens....users must be turning off the main switch and not the sub switch first.

Yes I remember well TABS, I mean when we did claims through German European headquarter, Toshiba Japan often get stuck with claims for a months and months. When TABS claimed the same Japanese engineers are working their butts hardly and fasterSo when we were waiting for a long time and they did nothing and then same claimed from Toshiba America...Bingo
