    where to order new SSD?

I have a 2550C that needs a new SSD drive. Where can I order them? I came up empty on a google search and my normal supply house doesn't sell them.

    The part number is 6LJ60716000.

I did a disk test and 2 partitions were found to be bad. I tried to recover them...one partition was successfully recovered, and the other was not. I then tried to initialized the bad partition, but it tested bad again.

    Thanks!

I think it would be both less expensive and instock to install a SED-HDD.

I didn't think you could install a non OEM drive in these machines. Can you elaborate?

You must install a genuine Toshiba original Secure Encrypted Drive (SED-HDD) in this copier.

Non-OEM HDDs will 100% not work.

You can either salvage one from a dead copier or buy one new from Toshiba Parts Dept.

And once you have the secure HDD (possible mounting brackets may be needed, don't know) to be installed the machine needs to be 'converted' to use HDD's which you need o contact your Toshiba Dealer for this.
Defects are simple, our mind is complicated

... plus at least one and maybe two cables.

Thumbs down Re: where to order new SSD?

I will need two brackets to mount a HDD. The SSD is simply a PCB with an SSD chip on it.

If I install the HDD kit, what else would I need to do besides formatting, installing the HDD version of the firmware and running 08-8759?

I am an independent, so I don't have access to the Toshiba dealer resources.

If you do not have direct access to Toshiba original parts, I still think it would be easier and cheaper for you to buy an entire e256/ e257 from a used equipment broker.

Do a 3 and Clear to format the SED-HDD. Do a 4 and 9 to load the firmware and you are done.
