    Toshiba 5055C

So I wanted to look the Drum over as I am getting some marks on the print. I remove the appropriate pieces and it appears the drum is just locked in there. I don't want to break it. To make sure I am doing things right I also tried to remove a couple of the color units and had no issues.

I am not 100% sure on what is locking it and or the steps needed to be done in order to release the lock. The copier still works thing, but I know eventually this will be an issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I did see this -https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/toshiba/139144-e-studio-5055c-cant-remove-black-drum-tb-unit.html

But I am not sure what they mean as to transfer belt release. Or where it is located.

Acquire Service Manual, Study the disassembly section, report back with findings, assistance will follow.

You can see it on pages 137, 141, 142, and 163 of the service manual.

Independence and doing your own manual reading is highly prized here. Though, to be completely fair, It's not ever named or referred to in the text. So all you've got to do to redeem yourself is say that you looked in the manual, but could not find any details.

EDIT: Oops!! Too late. You could have found it on page 224:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Talking Re: Toshiba 5055C

    Thanks for the help!

I do have a copy of the service manual and I did look. I have to admit this one was a tricky one. I don't know if I would have saw that lever an turning it clockwise part. I do look prior to asking, just sometimes it is hard to find the specific aspect or part I need. Usually if I do a ctrl + f in adobe I can start to look for things and generally find my way. I think in this case when I got stuck I started to do a general Google search, which in turn showed most Toshiba copiers having a larger green lever for that aspect which just made me more confused.

I was able to get the Drum aspect out, an clean it to get a better print.

Again thank you for taking the time to help!

I always start with control + F ... and got nothing. So you're off the hook this time.

    Congratulations on your success!

My entire trunk was jammed with paper manuals. But can you imagine browsing a 3000 page paper manual?!
