Question Toshiba Estudio 255se printing envelopes

I sold this machine and they are trying to print envelopes thru the bypass. It shows up LT paper size and won't print . I have the same machine in my office and when I use the bypass it says universal and prints fine. They had their IT guy look at it and he said there has to be a setting on the copier. I looked in the service handbook and couldn't find a code to change it to universal. What am I missing? Thanks in advance Neil

This is an old, discontinued copier lacking the proper feed roller tires in the bypass mechanism to work with envelopes.

The e255SE is no longer supported by Toshiba Tec. Parts and consumables are no longer required to be stocked.

Tell the customer to get an inexpensive laser printer or a new e330AC or e478s copier and forget about it.

Re: Toshiba Estudio 255se printing envelopes

To get envelopes to print correctly, the enduser must select the correct paper size to print on. If that paper size is not available from the list of paper sizes, the enduser must set up a Custom Paper Size defined in millimeters:

Search > Printers & Scanners > open queue > Printers > drop down to Properties > Preferences > Other > Custom Paper Size > Add > set A (short dimension in millimeters) > set B (long dimension in millimeters) > name the new paper size, i.e.: "Acknowledgement Envelope" > OK > Apply > OK.

When printing select the correct paper size. When prompted to load "UNIV", load the envelope face down SEF (short edge feed) to the bypass tray.

Your print driver may allow you to define the custom paper size in inches, however most Toshiba MFP's would prefer that you define your paper size in millimeters. There is no need to try to define the paper size in the bypass size settings. Just send the print job with the bypass tray empty, then let the machine prompt you to load paper.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

I just repeating the same words. You MUST select the correct paper size in the document and in the driver. NO setting needs changing in the MFP, just insert the paper. =^..^=
