    Toshiba ES-5005ac jamming

Hi all. Not mine machine doing a favour for a client. They called for paper jams. Sure it jam from both trays almost always incl. bypass tray. Doesn't matter paper direction tried both A4 and A4-R. Rarely paper will exit.
Always at the spot at fuser entrance. Image attached, it looks like image on belt is late with like half inch, every time exactly.
    Scanner_DSC21041416420.pdf

Belt, fuser and second transfer are looking normal and rotate, can't be aligning clutch. Maybe broken gear at fuser drive(machine side)? But that won't explain image misalignment.
Maybe something is binding belt rotation but I don't see it.
Machine is asking for PM but counter is 90k so I believe it is time for drums but too early for the belt and fuser.
    Any ideas?

    TIA

Which jam code are you getting? Pop out the fuser, make sure there isn't any garbage on the guide into the fuser.
Also, easy way to tell if the fuser is rotating. pop out the fuser. Use a "Sharpie" like pin, make a tiny mark on the
lower fuser roller. Run again, pop back out and see if the mark has moved.

I can't tell you much without a jam code. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Jam code E011.

It turned out that transfer belt cleaning unit was binding belt rotation causing image on belt to late on paper and also paper jams.
I managed to pull from machine Transfer Belt Cleaning Assembly but only on parts.

    Edit:
Additionally I found this old thread helpful:
toner lines in transfer belt unit TOSHIBA e-STUDIO 2050C error CE20

Especially this post is 100% what I've seen today.

Yes, a seized up transfer belt will definitely give you E011 jams. Usually the original cause is the waste bottle filling to the top at the left side, then backing up into the transfer waste cleaner. Then the auger spring pushes out the top of the cleaner.

Usually though, its catastrophic for the belt and cleaning auger spring. =^..^=

Yes seems like they let WTB goes way to full or cleaned it in some way. Belt looks whole.

    Re: Toshiba ES-5005ac jamming

I just saw this today on a eS3505AC. I believe a key factor is very low color use. This machine is printing less than 6% of all images as color. As a result, a disproportionately large percentage of the waste toner is wiped off color density and registration patches, filling the left side of the waste container (the opposite end of the full detection window).

As I was re-shaping the cleaning auger spring, I noticed that the replacement waste container is transparent on the back! So an observant enduser could toss an unevenly filled waste container before it backs up. =^..^=

I got lots of customers that print little colour. Good to know and deliver two waste toners at install as they are inexpensive.

Somewhat unrelated but I LOVE those customers that take out the WT and shake the piss out of it then put it back in the machine after they made a giant toner mess.

Have had several springs back up and was able to save the ITB but I noticed that the bound spring doesn't really seem long enough - I stretch it out a little in the middle of the spring so the end of it goes all the way to the exit chute.

They empty it AND break the 2 clips off at the top. They put in back in the machine, but the front door is the only thing holding it in. The IT belt auger is at the top of the waste box, so with the clip broke, the port does not open. The auger and spring back up.....job security.
I always remind my customer WTC are included in their contract.
