    8508A blur image

Tech brought me one. This ONLY happens in letter-r mode.
    Letter mode is perfect.
Image, from lead edge to about halfway looks fine. From half way to the tail, it's similar
to a double image. A ghost of the image is raised above the normal image.

My guess is the speed of the fuser & the alignment roller is a bit off. Lower fuser swelled
up a bit, changing the speed timing of the fuser?
The lead edge of the letter-r paper is in the nip of the fuser and the rest of the paper is
still in contact with the alignment roller & transfer belt.

He's taking another fuser out tomorrow to check it.

    +1 on this.
Especially if distance between fuser entrance and second transfer equals distance from paper lead edge to where it started ghosting.

I agree. We've seen this on all the sleeve fusers. When the teflon sheet gets dry it slows the fuser drive. On this fuser you may also find worn or broken gears, or the fuser drive bushings difficult to turn with that nasty black grease Toshiba likes to use that turns to cement. Molycote HP500 or another high temp grease helps. We've had success re-oiling the teflon sheet with the original sleeve oil.

When the fuser slows, the paper jiggles against the primary transfer belt at second transfer, blurring the image. It will start the distance from the second transfer to fuser, then clears up about 25mm from the trail edge, when the registration roller lets go.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Yep, looks pretty much like it. Told the tech, before you swap out the fuser, stop the machine before the paper moves from the
alignment roller & pull out the transfer belt and look at the image and see if it is clear.
When I put a letter paper against the nip of the fuser, the trail edge was clear of the alignment roller.
Pretty much sounds to me that the fuser is runnin' a bit slow. If that fixes it, when he brings it in for me to tear down, I'm gonna
measure the lower and see, plus, I've had some of that white Moly get caked up on the drive gear. I've told them til I'm blue in
the face to PULL that gear, clean the inside & the shaft, but it's like pissin' in the wind.

If belt it's ok replace the teflon sheet, add some oil and should be good to go. Pressure roller may get damaged depending how hard it worked against the belt

Well, it wasn't the fuser. I'm having the tech do the image dimsional adjustements...
You know the distance between the 1st & 20th, 2nd & bla bla bla.
I took a closer look under magnification, and you can barely see a bit of ghosting
    toward the top.

I'm now thinking the laser is the issue, if the image adjustments don't pan out.
