    3040C non oem toner

One of my old "church ladies" got hit by toner pirates on her backup 3040C machines. (her primary is a 3015C)
Color errors big time. CA00/CE40 etc...
Tech said he pulled out the yellow & magenta image units, split them apart and the developer was void of any
yellow or magenta toner. It was strickly carrier. He got some OEM yellow & magenta toner, put it in and rebooted
and it never added toner. I think the toner motor for yellow/magenta is hosed. Cyan & black still had OEM toner.
What kind of flipping toner absolutely won't stick to carrier. He sent me photos of the yellow & magenta dev units
and it looked BLACK. Absolutely NO toner in it. He left before I had the chance to ask him to just take the toner
cartridge and dump some toner in the developer unit, stir it and see if it would mix.
I think I'm gonna have to have a chat with my old customer and do the "shake my finger in front of her face" and
tell her not to do that again. (Not to mention it is way past time to RETIRE her backup machine).

    Re: 3040C non oem toner

I've never had generic toner of the right kind do that ... but I once had a customer bust open some Samsung AIO toner cartridges, and refill their eS655 bottle with mono-component toner. I can laugh about it now, but I wasn't laughing that day. Only a week ago I'd PM'd the machine.

The images (if you can call then that) were completely negative, like you'd turned on the "Negative Image" function. And there was only one place that toner DID NOT want to be ... that was in the developing unit. There was toner everywhere.

I suppose it's possible that the toner cartridges are a brick, and just won't release any toner. I once had a customer stack all their toner cartridges on a radiator ... I don't recommend it. The toner doesn't come out, ever. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: 3040C non oem toner

Way back about a million years ago, I worked for a dealer out of Central Arkansas. My service territory covered 14 counties of Northwest and Western Arkansas. Our parts/supplies guy decided to order some non-oem toner for 9110/9230/9240's. Unfortunately for me, a few bottles of this toner got shipped to customers in my territory, and as soon as they refilled the hopper with this new toner it crashed the developer and needed a developer change. I had a couple of these instances where the customer was several hours away. Had to vacuum out the toner hoppers and replace the developer. Fortunately they discovered pretty quickly in the Little Rock area that the toner was no bueno and shipped me back up toners and to confiscate any of the non-oem.

First 9110 we had, we let the owner of the company put in the first toner cartridge. Yep, he SQUEEZED the bottle. And yes, he was wearing a
    WHITE dress shirt.
