hi guys
thought i'd run this by you.
I'm working on xerox digital color press 700 and when customer prints anything with pictures skin looks washed out and pale. all text in print look great.
I replaced cyan developer & unit, replaced magenta developer material only, day before customer call back with this issue. i was there today and couldn't figure out why only pictures look like this.
colorcal fiery done, checked half tones no problem, checked and cleaned drums, ibt and developer unit connectors. replaced cyan developer unit 2nd time and same problem. swapped color drums no change in image. replaced blk drum same thing. I've never ran into this one before.
Can you print of a Procon highlight test page?
It is possible that the 1st BTR's are at fault. we need to make sure that it is colour specific and not common to all colours.
Black text usually looks fine no matter what the condition of the machine.
thanks for reply
it's not black, only color pictures, skin and sky color scaling.all half tone test print 50% to 100% look good.
don't know about procon test on xerox 700, do have dc routine #?
skin color is faded and sky or scaled colors have lines where color scaling should be smoothed out.
Your sample images in my experience has been a transfer issue. One way to test this is to open and close the drawer but set the type to the heavy. Then print on heavy even though it is regular paper. If there is a change in the colors I'd replace the transfer belt and 2nd roller.
