    Xerox 700 digital colour press / Creo CX print server Calibration Chart Print problem

    Hello copytechnet, after a couple of really helpful replies previously, we're after some advice.

    About a year ago our Creo RIP was problematic (not connecting to the printer). It used to take ages to delete old jobs, and we thought the hard drive may have been dying. We cloned the whole drive with Creo CX print server onto a new hard drive and checked for updates, increased airflow over the RIP card, re-seated the RAM and changed the RAM on the card, and one or all of these changes has solved that issue.

    The only problem is that we cannot print the calibration test chart (we could previously). When attempting to do this, the job enters the process queue in the print server, is recognized on the printer, and then disappears from the queue and 'the print job has been deleted' shows on the integrated screen on the printer. I.E. some information is being passed to the printer but the job is being deleted.

    We have v1.5SP1 of CX700 installed. WE do not have the original discs.

    We still have the old hard drive (with our previous installation) available so could copy across some files if anyone knows if there is a specific file that may be missing, and causing this issue. Any other ideas as to the cause of this issue would be most welcome.

    Sorry but I think the only way is try to reload the Creo system sw.

    we always find it annoying when searching online for fixes and the original poster never confirms what works or doesn't work, so we won't add to that!

    Solution: We got hold of the original creo software, some new HDDs and did a complete re-install and this solved all the issues. In hindsight, especially seeing how the data transfer from the HDD is much better (e.g. deleting jobs), we think it likely that there were HDD issues causing a lot of the problems. Not that surprising considering they were 10+years old.
