WC 6655 SD Card

I need an SD card for the WC 6655. Inventory from Xerox parts portal out of stock (and I called them, according to their backorder listing, they have no idea when they will get the part). I just found out that the USB ports are disabled by default during boot making forced altboot in this particular case impossible without a new SD.

Nevertheless I have a question. This SD card PN#604K91860, does it have to be purchased by xerox? Or can I use any new compatible generic SD?

UPDATE: Xerox released Alternate part number today for the SD Card. Thank God.

Unfortunately the term "back ordered" can many times mean "discontinued".

Manufacturers however for some reason always fail to tell you this.

Reviving old thread to kill it.

I've gotten two e-mails asking for an update and resolution. Here it is.

First, you need the new 626S00097 SD CARD, and NO, you can not use your own SD card. Once I put the new SD card in, I upgraded the firmware using the ALTBOOT [See Service manual] method. When the firmware upgrade was finished, before asking for a reboot, I turned off the printer, removed my NEW $600 SD card [For later use] and put back the old one.

Tested, works great.
