Take it easy Phil, my dad had a 53 Rambler! (Still remember that car)
This customer more inline with a Ford Edsel...lol
This is what I do to all my old Xerox machines using SMB 1 for scanning...
it works all the time...
To enable or disable SMBv1 on the SMB server or PC,
configure the following registry key:
Registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\LanmanServer\Parameters
Registry entrycall it) SMB1
1-RIGHT CLICK; select - DWORD
2- NAME REGISTERY - SMB1
3- REG_DWORD: 1 = Enabled
RESTART PC TO WORK
If still does not work- setup FTP..
Try with this software version
Phaser 3635MFP File Download
creat a folder directly in drive C or drive D
share the folder with full access permission for local or domain user
from the sharing windows under password protection
go to network and sharing center then go to all network
from password protected sharing select turn off password protected sharing
save and try
waiting for your feedback
I ended up solving the problem with some help from Xerox Tech support.
He came in remotely, and we ran a built in version of debug on the machine which produced a log we could look at while trying to scan to
my laptop.
The log showed everything working okay, accepted user name, accepted password,
found share, but then it died.
Turned out that the latest software was buggy, went back one version and everything works great again.
Thank you to all who contributed !
