Thanks for your lovely reply, I am after the feature enablement code (lost!) to enable the postscript option - the postscript chip is installed just need to activate it again. Thanks if you can help and answer to your question I used to be a tech few years ago but doing a favour for a animal shelter with a second hand machine
Go here:
Xerox Software Activation Portal
Click on 'Find an exisiting key'
Click on '(or enter a serial number to get all the keys for a machine)'
Enter machine serial number and you are all set.
Thanks buddy but I think machine is too old as it says not in database thats why I need a code sent to me
A crap, that's too bad. I've had 7120's in that database if I remember correctly. Sorry that doesn't help.
71 series should be chip only, no codes. Codes replaced the chip in the later 72 series.
If the chip is in, print a config and see if it states Postscript is installed.
On the 72 series, you can never lose codes as you go to Xerox FIK page and enter the serial to retrieve all applied license keys

thanks so much for your reply I didnt know that with 7120 - my experience is all canon and richo, DOC.PDF here is the config report. is there any option to enable the port or something then or is it suggesting faulty chip?
thanks
d
It should be a case of fitting the chip and installing the PS driver. That's it.
What's showing under 'Installed Options'?
