GSN lock & bus station question

I don't get it. Our dealership has around 30 techs. Every so often, we have to change the GSN
lock password. When someone changes it, they blast an email to let everyone know the password
    has been changed.
Today, our password, is suppose to end in 5. The rest of the password remains the same, just the
ending number. Even after rebooting, for some techs, the password works, for some the previous
number worked (4), and for some, a more previous number works (3).
I had to log into GSN lock with the 4, but when I run the bus station, it won't connect because it
says the password is incorrect, even though GSN lock is working.

Can anyone help out a confused (1 year) xerox partner dealership out?

    Thanks!

Xerox has multiple layers of security for a reason. Yes at times its a pain but necessary.

We had to update the anti-virus every two weeks of you would get screen pop ups every few minutes warning.

Plus they monitored every web site you visited.

I think I figured it out. If I open the GSN client, click on options, go to the reauthorization part, I got it to
    sync up.

At least once a month, after a windows update, I have to run the release 12 repair utility to get IE to work
    with PWS.

Why don't you assign all of your techs a separate GSN ID and let them set their own password? Their GSN ID is needed for them to do proper training and certification anyway

We were told by Xerox, our dealership is authorized to have ONE ID, and all the techs have to use that ID.
Each tech has their own TCN number, but the login for the PWS is assigned one number.

Strange. We're an ASP and each have our own and have to have individual GSN ID to get booked on training courses.

That GSN ID and all training records then follow you as an individual, should you leave and go to another dealer.

Re: GSN lock & bus station question

We were told the same thing as "Rusty"

Separate "TCN" numbers but only one "GSN" number for the dealership.

Although this may all become a moot point as of June 1 2021 Xerox is essentially firing all ASP from doing any warranty or service contract work.

    No more "Warranty reimbursement claims"

No more No charge for "Warranty Parts"

Xerox is just giving a small discount on the dealerships XPPS total machine count and that has to cover "EVERYTHING" Warranty, Service Contract, Parts, etc..

Xerox will be sub contracting it's work to Compucom, and other sub contractors.

We did the math and unless you have over 2500 XPPS machines the discount would not even pay one techs salary.

We will no longer be a ASP with this plan (25 years...done).

I personally don't see how 95% of the dealers will be able to remain Xerox ASP's with this plan.

I guess HP here we come.
