    Turn off Xerox monitoring or remote services

    Hey Xerox techs,

    I'm a Sharp guy 😁, but not so sharp when it comes to Xerox.

    Customer is not renewing their maintenance contract with Xerox. They are asking if something can be done to disable remote services (Xerox Monitoring of equipment).

    How can this be done, if possible?

    Machine is 7855i

    Go onto web interface and the option is in there to turn it off. Customer can do it no problem

    On any FreeFlow server, open the license manager (Top toolbar, Setup, License)

    Find the license entry for Remote Services, highlight, right click, and when the property sheet opens,, disable the license
    (Radio Button in upper left corner)

    Close out, accept the option to restart if offered.
    License can be re-enabled at any time.


    We used to call it "Xerox Call Home" after the famous line in the movie ET

    Sorry so illiterate when it comes to X. But...

    Will this affect the "meter toner thingy" on 7845i and 3655, 6655 desktops?

    It will affect the remote toner monitoring for Xerox, but as they are coming off contract then that's fine isn't it? You can run your own monitoring tool with no problems, as they use SNMP and that's still running on the machine

    If it is using metered toners then you will need to swap them to sold toners, or it will choke.
