Versalink C7025VS making a clicking sound & is calling for magenta toner

Hi all,

New to Xerox so please bear with!

I have an Versalink C7025VS that is making a clicking sound & is calling for toner, customer fitted a new toner however machine still says reorder magenta toner on the screen & still making a clicking sound as if a drive gear is slipping etc.

I marked the rear of the M toner & from what I can tell the bottle is not being driven (my marker hasn't moved)

Is this a known issue?

Can you rotate the auger? Clicking sounds as if the toner auger is stuck. Thump the end of the toner on the floor - or against your palm - a few times and give it a shake. As to the saying reorder toner, could be a bad crum, or maybe it's just due to the fact that the auger isn't moving.

Above is best guess since I'm not in front of the machine. YMMV.

You might want to give the other cartridges a thump and shake as well. I know it sounds odd, but sometimes a stuck auger on yellow can give an error on cyan, yadda yadda. Welcome to the land of the Big X...

While on site I did take out the toners & they all turn by hand ok.

I also removed the drum & devs they also turn easily by hand.

How easy is it to remove the toner hopper or bottle drive units?

I'd have to look at the edoc. I've never had a reason to do that.

I sent the client out a new M toner & the issue hasn't returned. However I could turn the faulty toner by hand fairly easily.
