Question Xerox 700 - faint line through image

    Hi

I am having an issue with a Xerox 700 device that we have recently taken over support of, we're not hugley experienced with these type of deivce so trying to feel our way with it.

When printing a CMYK test file to the device we're getting a slight horizontal line through the K image, after reading some of the other posts we tried cleaning the glass as it seemed to be similar to some other posts, but issue remains, just hoping to confirm would this be the black drum unit or is there possibly some other areas to check before replaceing parts?

The consumbales in the machine are all OEM, K drum life is 55%, one of the K toners is very low.

Test print is A4 long edge.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

I would start from developer section. This is not OPC issue.

    Hello.
It could be the IBT, make two prints in size 13x19 inches and see how many times the line is repeated in the prints, if it is only once per sheet it is very likely that the IBT is damaged.
    Greetings

    Hi

is there anything more specific you would reccomend in the developr section, i've checked it over and can't see anything obvious at fault with the black dev.

Someone else mentioned it may need the laser glass cleaned from the inside, is that more likely than the dev?

    Thanks

    Remove black developer top cover.
Then you will be able to see is there anything on developer roller.
Remove laser and clean all mirrors in it.

    print a internal test pattern(19) halftone at 40 %
    1 print 3color
    1 print black full color
    1 print black (K mode)

If the defect is present on the black print (K mode but not in full mode ) cause is related to black development or black laser windows (K)obstruction.(Dirty)
if defect is present on the halftone 40% 3 color print . cause is color deve housing with obstructions o or color laser window (CMY) is dirty.
