Question Ap vii 4021- updating toner taking too long to update

    Hi Guys,

After I had installed a new toner (CT203367) on an ApeosPort VII 4021. The machine kept on UPDATING TONER.
The updating of toner took more than 30 minutes which is not normal. When I checked supplies status the toner which was on 100% decreased to 52%.
I was not able to print the config report. The machine was dumping the toner without doing any prints/copying.

    Action taken while on site:
    • Wiped spilled waste toner powder
    • Cleaned all the contacts thoroughly
    • Boot up the machine, initialized the IOT in CE mode.
    • No changes same problem.

Note: I couldn't enable MPS(Metered) toner coz we don't have it in stock.

Is there any remedy for this issue.
    Will highly appreciate your response.

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Ap vii 4021- updating toner taking too long to update

    what's the developer counter?

how's the print / copy result of halftone black? full tone black?

IMHO, toner taking too long to update are caused by this:
    1. Developer shot / need replacement. Check your ATC target value and measured value. It the difference is more than 50, then most likely you need new developer.
    2. Leaking toner supply (very easy to check, see whether there are toner spilling inside the machine).
    3. Clogged drum unit / developer unit.

    Thanks for your response.

I'll order for new drum cartridge and see how it goes.
I had done what you have stated. But since the issue still persist, I'll double check and repeat all the procedures thoroughly before installing the new drum cartridge.

    Appreciate your assistance.

    Cheers,
